One of the features I included in my original design for Project #3 was that there were two search bars. One was the traditional bar that users are accustomed to, and the other was a "QuickView" search bar that had it's own section of the video page to display search results. In my redesign, I would strongly consider dropping the "QuickView" bar and have results simply automatically be displayed in the "QuickView" results section. I would run through the unnecessary test to make this decision:

1. Is there more than one way to complete the task this feature supports?
Yes, there are two search bars. Users can also search in their browser's toolbar.

2. Does this feature contribute directly to the completion of the task?
Yes, it provides an area for user input.

3. Is the task this feature supports vital to the activity this application supports?
No, users do not necessarily need to be able to search for videos while they watch others.

I would definitely be inclined to reduce the number of search bars down to one. 
Two adds clutter to the page and offers the user two options to essentially complete the same task in two different ways, which is redundant and unnecessary.
