I worked on the aspect of adding the "Best of Youtube" feature to the tab of YouTube users who already hold an account with YouTube. I happened to choose a friend of mine for usability testing and her mental model was to explore new videos that are being uploaded and are popular (Best of YouTube) in addition to the videos that she loves. This feature is not available when the user signs in with YouTube. Adding this feature will enable the users to explore additional videos which would not be available to them.
Thinking from the standpoint of the implementational model of the programmer, they prefer keeping things constrained by showing the users the videos they love to watch. Though this has worked for the YouTube users quite often, YouTube can improve by adding the "Best of YouTube" feature to the profile of people who hold an account with YouTube.
