For project #3, I decided to redesign the search feature on the Xbox 360 YouTube app. This feature, especially my redesign, was very bare-bones and only contained the minimum components required to search for videos, along with suggested searches. The user's mental model most likely wants to get from their search query to results as quickly as possible, without caring how it happens. The app allows users to type their query, offers a list of possible search queries to speed up the process, and offers real-time results with each new letter added to the search query. 

The programmers model might expect or want more detailed search parameters. Perhaps they would want to see how the suggested searches are generated. Maybe they want to see how many clicks or how the popularity of a video boosted its place in the search results. They might also expect more detailed search parameters such as video length, specifying whether the search is for a title or user, or some other search parameter.

The users want a "black box" type of application. They don't care HOW it works, they just care that it works and that it works well. Developers/programmers, however, are probably much more curious as to how the application works and they probably want more control over the application's functions.
