 YouTube's Why

Link: youtube.com

For my second blog I chose YouTube's website as an obvious design.  I believe that YouTube's motivation to create such a site lies in the company's desire to provide their users a fast and easy way to view and share videos.  This goal is evident at the top of the homepage where a search bar, for finding videos, is located right next to the upload button.  These two features highlight the company's reason for existence, viewing and sharing videos.  To do either of these tasks YouTube has made it easy and fast for users to accomplish by putting options to do either at the top of the page.  Though both of these features are examples of what the company offers its users, it is the why behind the features that went into the website's design and that has consequently made YouTube as popular as it has become.  YouTube was designed with a passion for videos and the ability to share them with others.
