Ebay is obvious design because it starts out by showing a search bar in which you may enter anything you may be looking to buy. It also allows you to search by category if you are not exactly looking for something specific. For many of those people who love to shop online like myself, the category option is great because I personally tend to just look for random stuff when I am bored. This obvious option allows to increase business because you tend to stumble upon many things you would not normally have searched specifically for, and if you really like it, theres a good chance you will throw a bid out there.
